We are partnering with Christ Episcopal Church in Alameda to prepare/serve dinner on select evenings in December through March (12/18, 1/30, 2/5 & 3/5) for The Alameda Warming Shelter at 1700 Santa Clara Avenue. We will be cooking from 2:30-6:00 pm and serving from 6:30-8:00 pm. The shelter is home for up to 20 homeless people on any given evening through March. This is an excellent opportunity to not only serve but to meet/talk with people using the shelter.
What is needed: Your time to work with others to prepare dinner and/or serve that meal at the shelter. Cooking and cleanup requires 3 hours (Bay Farm Church kitchen) and serving requires 1 1/2 hour (at the Warming Shelter).
Who: Anyone who has a passion to serve and enjoys cooking. Teenagers or Adults can participate.

We area team of BFC volunteers that are looking out for the needs of the East Bay homeless. There are two activities to choose from:
1. Each Saturday throughout the year, we visit local encampments in teams to provide freshly bagged meals, letting folks know that there are people who care. When there is an opportunity, it also allows us to minister, pray and share God’s Word!
2. Each quarter, we will host a barbeque at a houseless site and serve lunch. What is needed: both these activities will take place on Saturdays and volunteers are needed: 1. To prep, package, and hand out bagged meals. This will be a safe activity as we will serve in teams. In addition to providing meals, we have also recently been collecting and handing out donated clothes/personal items. 2. To bring fresh food and barbeque at assigned houseless sites and serve residents. Who: anyone who has a passion to serve and enjoys giving a little back to those who don’t have much. Teenage and up.
